Sarah Dills is a recent addition to Bayview’s staff— having only worked at the Club for the past 4 months. Sarah can be spotted working between the Grill and Half-Way House. Thus far, she’s enjoyed her time working at the Club and getting to know all of the members.
We had the opportunity to catch up with Sarah during her busy day and learn more about her time at Bayview:
What does a typical day look like for you?
It really depends. Sometimes I work the breakfast shift and other times it’s the dinner shift. Lately, it has mostly been the dinner shift and we’re extremely busy, as we’re short-staffed, so we’re taking a lot more tables than usual and trying to manage everything the best we can.
Describe your role in 3 words:
What are your biggest challenges on the job?
I’ve never served before, so each day is a new learning opportunity for me.
What do you like most about your job?
My coworkers and all the members.
Something interesting about you?
I will be moving to New Zealand in December! I’m not sure how long I will be going for, but this is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. When I was in university, I participated in an exchange program in Australia for one year. During that time, my mom and sister came down to visit me and we went to New Zealand for a few weeks, which was amazing! I’ve been thinking a lot about going back ever since, so I thought to myself, “Why not now?” So I’m moving there and I don’t know what to expect, but I’m so excited!
We’re so happy to have Sarah as part of our team!
